Taste of Thailand has been my family’s go-to restaurant for as long as I can remember, so its about time I blogged it! Located in a small strip mall on Bob Boozer Drive (lolz), Taste of Thailand brings bold, fresh flavours to the table each and every time. Their Tom Ka Kai (Chicken Coconut Soup) and Pad Thai have been two of my favourites since I was a child, and have set the bar impossibly high for other Thai restaurants; I have yet to find a dish that comes close to either of these at Thai restaurants from California to London to Australia. Dishes not to miss include the above-mentioned TKK (also great with tofu) and Pad Thai, as well as the combination veggie curry (my mom’s fave, but all of the curries are incredible) and basil fried rice . At lunch their entrees come with spring rolls and veggie balls, which are both delicious- at dinner I’d recommend upgrading from a pad thai to the U-Don Dinner so as to not miss out on these fried little wonders. The restaurant’s owner, Charlie, can always be found running the front of house with a smile, while his wife works her magic in the kitchen. This little family restaurant serves up the best Thai food in town, and should be added to everyone’s list.
