Wow. Where to start with Bistro C? We went there for lunch after several recommendations, and we were certainly not disappointed. The restaurant is located right along the beach, and so we chose a table outside so we could enjoy the gorgeous weather. We started off with drinks- a beer for Alex and a rose lychee martini for me. The martini was wonderful- the flavours of rosewater and fresh lychee juice played off of each other perfectly, and it was just strong enough for a casual lunchtime drink. For mains Alex ordered a barramundi special, which came with parmesan polenta, asparagus, crab and tomato relish and pesto. The barramundi was well-seasoned and the skin was crispy and delicious. The crab and tomato relish was amazing- its fresh flavours complemented the creamy polenta perfectly. The whole dish came together wonderfully, and was a well-balanced, fresh meal that reflected Bistro C’s ideal location along the beach. I ordered an asian-inspired chili-grilled chicken with lemongrass infused coconut risotto (i seriously can’t get enough of risotto. ever.), bok choy and a coriander jus. The risotto definitely stole the show- the flavours were again incredibly fresh, and the balance of lemongrass and coconut was perfect. The chili-grilled chicken on top was a nice compliment, with just the right amount of spice in comparison to the risotto. The bok choy and coriander jus brought the whole dish together- each bite had just the right amount of tang, spice, creaminess and depth. Both of us cleaned our plates, and find ourselves craving the flavours of Bistro C every now and then. If we ever end up in Noosa again we’ll definitely come back to Bistro C. Possibly more than once. Pictures below.
